Biography

I obtained a Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Eastern Piedmont in 2021. After graduation, I held a position as a teaching and laboratory support tutor within the Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at the same university, and I was also responsible for a supplementary teaching course in Genetics I for the same program. In 2023, I enrolled as a Ph.D. student in Agrobiodiversity – Plant Genetics curriculum at the PlantLab.

Research

My research project aims to identify new proteins in rice that are regulated by molecular mechanisms responsible for its peculiar ability to germinate under hypoxic conditions. I have selected interesting candidate proteins through bioinformatic analyses and I’m using molecular biology approaches to elucidate their functional roles.
